Problem statement.

There was a need to track and calculate hours worked per project or sub-task by Regional Service Desk technicians.

Intended goal.

It was necessary to be able to measure and allocate worked hours to existing projects. The goal was twofold: on one hand, to show which projects consumed the most time, and on the other, to serve as a proof of concept for rolling out a similar system worldwide.

Approach.

Together with the responsible parties, the exact requirements were determined. A product was then developed that allowed managers to create projects and technicians to log their hours against them. The requested reporting was also created so that informed decisions could be made based on the collected data. This data was also used to compare estimated hours against actual hours worked.

Ultimately, this project led to the introduction of a worldwide system, with Kairos serving as the benchmark.
